Client

Unison is the largest trade union Britain with over 1.3 million members.

Brief

To produce a stand design that could be used at two major conferences: The TUC Conference in Brighton and The Labour Party Annual Conference in Manchester. The stand would be used for up to 4 further conferences.

Challenge

Unison required the stands to have three main functions: To raise awareness of Unison, what they do and their current campaigns. To recruit new members and to influence key stakeholders, lobbying, meeting and opinion formers. The stand needed to be designed in such a way as to allow semi-private areas for meetings as well as a 'market' area for interface with conference delegates/potential members. There also had to be a fully equipped and functioning office for the staff.

Pitch

A very tight deadline meant that we had to move very quickly to achieve a design and build to meet the challenge within 3 weeks. A contemporary design with clean lines incorporating the strong colours of the Unison logo was the approach used.

Result

A simple but striking stand that stood out among all others at both conferences. The stand met with all the brief criteria and was well received by the client and its visitors.
