Client

The client functions as the British Labour Party's voice in the European Parliament. They came to Glass Shed with a requirement for a new exhibition stand design.

Brief

The client wanted an exhibition designer that could create a bespoke stand, based on the EU logo, incorporating a semi-private meeting area, a reception area and a large storage facility.

Challenge

A major technical requirement was a need for a live feed to broadcast the congress directly onto the stand. A commitee of ten had to approve the design, meaning the exhibition stand designers had to consider many different issues.

Pitch

Our exhibition designers approach was to design a stand that was a physical representation of the two main elements of the party logo, namely the rose of England and the stars of the European Union. An organic approach was employed, affording us the oppertunity to use strong curves and stand out from the crowd neatly avoiding the straight metallic structure approach used by many to design exhibition stands. The drawings clearly demonstrated the strong direction taken and the finished example was almost exactly like the initial concept, for an exhibition designer, this is always an encouraging vindication of an idea.

Result

The stand was incredibly well received and certainly very well attended, the Deputy Prime Minister visited and was visibly impressed.
